Registration is now open for the 5th International Architectural
Paint Research (APR) Conference:

Early bird registration before 27 October 2013.

Proposals for papers to be presented at the conference are at
present being assessed by the peer review committee. We now invite
the submission of posters to be presented at an organized poster
session to allow participants the opportunity to share their
experiences and/or projects. The call for posters is open to anyone
involved in APR practitioners, researchers, statutory bodies,
commissioning clients and end-users of the research findings. We
would especially like to encourage students to submit posters.

If you would like to present a poster, please submit your
provisional title and a summary of the poster in English (maximum
200 words). Please do not include any illustrations at this point.
If your proposal is selected, you will be invited to prepare a text
of about 500 words for the poster presentation. The author is
responsible for printing the poster.

Deadline for poster summary submissions is 15 October 2013.

Notification along with guidance notes for the poster will be sent
by email before 31 October 2013.

The conference aims to re-examine three important issues;

    Production of a set of standards for APR research,

    Relationship between APR practitioners, commissioning clients
    and communities,

    Communication of research findings and conservation options to
    the heritage decision-makers.

Preliminary programme

Wednesday March 1, 2014

    Presentations will focus on standards, working procedures and
    demands in tendering processes for architectural paint research.
    The first day of the conference will be concluded with a
    reception held at the City Hall of Stockholm, hosted by the City
    of Stockholm.

Thursday March 1, 2014

    Interdisciplinary communication between the professionals
    involved in architectural paint research is the main topic of
    the second day. A conference dinner will be held at The Royal
    Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (the conference venue).

Friday March 14, 2014

    This days presentations will look at ways to promote APR to
    users and the public as well as how to empower and educate
    decision makers. The session-part of the conference will be
    concluded with a panel discussion (based on the results from a
    participant questionnaire).

Saturday March 15, 2014

    Excursions are planned for the morning of the last day of the
    conference. There are four different excursions to choose from;
    Drottningholm Court Theatre, the Chinese Pavilion, Sadra Banco
    in the Old Town and Nationalmuseum.

The conference is hosted by the Swedish National Heritage Board in
collaboration with the Swedish National Property Board, Uppsala
University, University of Gothenburg, the Norwegian Institute for
Cultural Heritage Research (NIKU), the University of Amsterdam, the
Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Cultural Heritage Agency
of the Netherlands, and Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg
(SRAL).
