A one-day lecture/demonstration and discussion of the rationale,
techniques and equipment used to monitor key aspects of collection
environments for museums, libraries and archives, with typical
criteria and evaluation of monitoring results.  Appropriate for both
institutional and consulting conservators, as well as curators and
other collections management professionals, and maintenance and
operations personnel.

all registrants as well as reading materials. Note: PPG plans to
offer similar 1-day workshops in the future on related topics.

Morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided. There will be a
lunch break; lunch is on your own. There are several places nearby
to get lunch.

A tour of the Monmouth County Archives, located on the lower level
of the library, will be available after the program concludes at

William Lull is a graduate of the Building Technology program at
MIT, a principal at Garrison/Lull Inc., and Associate Adjunct
Professor of Building Technology at New York University. He has
formerly worked as a designer and project manager for architects,
engineers, and government agencies. His collection environment
programming experience covers 100+ projects, including state and
institutional archives, public and university libraries, fine art
museums, natural history and science museums, historical societies
and material culture collections, and historic houses. (See
