Paintings Workshop "Understanding their condition and basic maintenance" The Huntington Library 1151 Oxford Road San Marino, CA 91108 Munger Research Center Seaver classroom 1-2 October 2, 2013, 10:30 am to 3:00 pm The Los Angeles Preservation Network (LAPNet) invites you to attend a presentation by Carolyn Tallent on the various materials and methods of painting construction, changes that occur from normal aging, some of the types of damages that paintings incur, and information on basic maintenance. This will be followed by a workshop; participants are encouraged to bring in objects that we can examine and discuss. Instructor: Carolyn Tallent is a paintings conservator in private practice in Santa Monica. She has worked in a regional conservation center, museums, and in private practice, and is the editor of the Western Association for Conservation Newsletter. Who should attend? Library, archives, and other repository staff who have responsibility for the care of paintings collections. Parking is free.
