Call for papers--Metals and Composite Objects conservation

We are very pleased to invite you to the first meeting of "Metals
and Composite Objects conservation", organised by International
Council of Museums - Committee for Conservation (ICOM-CC) Metals WG
national representative for Poland and the Polish Maritime Museum in
Gdansk

The meeting will be a great chance for conservators from different
museums in Pomerania region to become familiar with each other's
work, exchange knowledge, experiences and what's more important a
great opportunity for further cooperation.

The meeting is planned for 21 October 2013 at the Maritime Culture
Centre, the branch of the Polish Maritime Museum, situated on
Tokarska Street 21-25 (entrance from both Motlawa River and Tokarska
Street).

The scope of the meeting includes the following topics:

    Conservation of archaeological objects

    Materials characterization and identification

    New technologies in conservation including engineering and 3D
    Technology

    Prevention of outdoor cultural heritage degradation

The meeting is planned for one day, during which there will be a
series of talks and group discussions. There will also be an
opportunity to visit the Conservation Department in the Maritime
Culture Centre.

We are currently inviting professionals to submit abstracts for the
meeting.  We encourage English as the main language for the
abstracts, but Polish will be also accepted.

Deadline for sending abstracts is 30 September 2013.
