Internships
Centre for Research Collections
University of Edinburgh

The Centre for Research Collections (CRC) has developed a new
programme of internships to teach and extend core skills in the
archive, conservation and research disciplines.

Three internships are available in this round; all three have a
stipend attached.

    Archive internship:
    10 weeks full-time with a stipend of UKP3000.

    Conservation internship:
    10 weeks full-time with a stipend of UKP3000.

    Research internship:
    5 weeks full-time with a stipend of UKP1500.

This programme is designed for those who have recently completed a
relevant professional qualification but are yet to gain paid or
permanent employment in the sector: the internships will offer the
successful candidate valuable work experience in their chosen career
to enhance future employability. The interns will be well supported
by CRC staff and offered extensive opportunities to develop their
skills.

The internships will be based within the Lothian Health Services
Archive (LHSA) team, working on unique healthcare-related
collections

The archive intern will focus on cataloguing the rich photographic
resources held, and the conservation intern will concentrate on the
treatment and re-housing of early parchment title deeds. The
research intern will focus on LHSA's WWI-related material and
develop resources to access and use that material. Wider experience
of working in the archive and higher education sectors will also be
offered.

To apply, provide the following:

Your CV of no more than 2 sides of A4 (to include contact
details, information on your qualifications and any previous
voluntary or work experience, and contact details for two
    referees)

A supporting statement of 500 - 1000 words detailing why you are
interested in the internship and describing how participation in
the programme would benefit your future career

Confirmation that you are eligible to work in the UK

Please note that applications without 1-3 above will not be
considered.
