The program focuses on preventive and invasive conservation as well
as materials science and digital restoration.

The field of work consists of the following:

    Chemically generated analogue documents in video, audio and
    written form, such as historical photographs, films and
    photocopies.

    Magnetic and opto-electronic images, texts, and sound files in
    various formats and systems such as video and audio tapes, as
    well as with digital information carrier.

    Diverse printing methods in digital media

We are looking for a person with extensive practical experience in
one or more of the above listed categories who is willing to impart
in theory and practice the methods and ethos of
conservation/restoration in this specific genre of cultural
heritage. National and international networking with relevant
institutions, as well as experience in applying for, managing and
implementing externally funded projects, is expected.  The holder of
this position should also be prepared to teach comprehensive courses
and interconnect the specialized course offerings to other
subdivisions of conservation/restoration as well as to other
disciplines at the HTW Berlin and beyond. The enrichment of one's
course offerings through collaborative research and one's own
projects is desired. Participation in academic administration is
required. The HTW offers modern laboratories in a unique academic
surrounding. The expertise of an interdisciplinary operating staff
will often be at one's disposal.
