The ICOM-CC Working Groups for 'Education and Training' and
'Preventive Conservation' are to hold their combined interim meeting
"Conservation Now" at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne on
Thursday - Friday 5-6 September 2013. The meeting seeks to
understand the current and future demands on conservation practice
in order that conservation programmes can maximise the employability
of their graduates.

In advance of the meeting we have gathered a substantial amount of
data through surveys on the experiences of conservation graduates,
the conservation programmes, practising conservators as well as
those employing conservators which will be collated for discussion
as part of the meeting.

We would like to thank all of you who have contributed to the
surveys and hope that you will be able to join us for the meeting to
discuss the outcomes and help identify potential strategies to best
support the future development of conservation practitioners. The
outcomes of the discussions as well as papers presented on related
topics will be uploaded to the respective webpages after the
meeting.

Registration: Please let the co-ordinator know by email if you plan
to attend the meeting so that appropriate facilities can be provided

interim meeting but delegates are required to cover their own
accommodation, travel and subsistence costs.
