Subject: Survey on sourcing conservation materials
Survey Sourcing conservation materials in challenging contexts This brief survey aims to collect information on how conservators and other heritage practitioners source conservation materials, particularly those employed for storage. I'm primarily interested in how the choice is made in contexts in which "conservation grade" materials are not readily available. These contexts may include: archaeological sites; heritage sites or museums located in remote or poorly connected areas; heritage sites or museums in low income countries. Please only participate if you have at least some experience of working in contexts similar to the ones described above. Please read the following information and select one of the two surveys: If you work in contexts similar to the ones described only occasionally, for example if you are mainly based in a museum in a western country but sometimes do fieldwork, please answer this survey: <URL:http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LLTZTRB> If you predominantly work in areas where "conservation grade" materials are generally hard to find, please answer this other survey: <URL:http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MPSB2ZV> The information gathered will contribute to a dissertation on the use of sustainable techniques and locally produced materials in conservation. The data will also be disseminated online at <URL:http://uclconversationsonconservation.blogspot.co.uk> Thanks for your time, Flavia Ravaioli MSc in Conservation for Archaeology and Museums Institute of Archaeology, UCL 31-34 Gordon Square London WC1H 0PY United Kingdom *** Conservation DistList Instance 27:7 Distributed: Wednesday, July 31, 2013 Message Id: cdl-27-7-020 ***Received on Wednesday, 24 July, 2013
