Subject: Rock art tracings
Canterbury Museum in New Zealand are in the process of documenting their large (over 800 items) collection of rock art 'tracings' made on plastic sheet. These are in many cases the only remaining record of these artworks and certainly the only record of these artworks from the 1960s, prior to subsequent degradation. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with a particular scanning or overhead photography system suitable for capturing large (over 1m x 1m) images taking into account the need for accurately recording scale and minimising reflection from the plastic?
