Postdoctoral fellowships (2 positions) and Phd Position in chemistry/conservation science Museum of Cultural History University of Oslo, Norway The Museum of Cultural History houses the Oseberg find which represents the most comprehensive collection of Viking Age wooden objects in the world. In order to develop a preservation strategy for the alum-conserved wooden objects of the Oseberg find, the museum launched the research project Saving Oseberg. Within the framework of Saving Oseberg, two Postdoc and one PhD positions are available: Postdoc 1: De-acidification of archaeological wood and removal of harmful ions Postdoc 2: Development of bio-inspired conservation materials for archaeological wood PhD: Lignin and lignin-like compounds for wood consolidation The fellowships should not start later than January 1, 2014.
