News in Conservation (NiC)

From: Graham Voce <iic<-at->
Date: Monday, July 1, 2013
The new issue of News in Conservation is out now and ready to be
downloaded for free, by all, from the IIC website. In light of a
recent plea to help Timbuktu on the DistList we would like to draw
colleagues attention to the leading story in this issue of NiC.

In this issue we feature:

The exile of a library: What happened to the Timbuktu
manuscripts? We learn about "T160K", a fundraising project to
save the treasures that were moved from Timbuktu to save them
    from destruction

Aurelie Isebaert and Laurent Van Parys talk about their research
    on stone repairs

IIC Reviews. The first instalment of a review of French
    conservation periodicals and journals

CSI: South East Museums: A new team of regional conservators.
Ruth Stevens on setting up a team of project conservators in the
    UK

A genetic-based approach to achieve higher durability for stone
    repairs

What's on + NiC's List: The latest announcements on conferences,
seminars and workshops plus the latest call for papers
