Assistant Conservator City of London, London Metropolitan Archives (Fixed Term - 12 Months Grade C) Ref: OCHL065 Salary: starting at UKP25,350 pa. including Inner London Weighting LMA is the largest local government archive repository in the United Kingdom. It is based in Clerkenwell and administered by the City of London, and its holdings run to around 100km of documents dating from 1067 - present. LMA holds local government and other records for the Greater London area and the City of London. These collections have been awarded designated status by the Museums Libraries and Archives Council. The post holder will be required to carry out basic repairs and flattening treatments to a high standard, to clean and package items with due consideration for format and condition, to assist with the mounting and display of items for exhibition, to assist in the carrying out of surveys of collections, and to support specific project work and liaise effectively with all members of staff. Applicants will have a recognised qualification in the fields of paper, archive or book conservation or equivalent. Experience of working in an archive would be an advantage. The post holder will work to an experienced conservator under the direction of the Studio Manager.
