Specialist scientist for paintings examination Scientific Department The National Gallery, London Job reference: SCIEN/06 UKP28,492 - UKP35,700 Full-time The central role of this post in the Scientific Department is to undertake technical examination of paintings in the National Gallery collection, especially the analysis of samples, to provide interpreted and documented data in support of conservation work and other technical research. An interest in the analysis of organic materials in paintings is preferred. You must have a first degree in an appropriate scientific field and a post graduate degree in a relevant subject. In addition you must have experience in a range of appropriate analytical techniques, and a strong knowledge of the materials of paintings.
