Technical Study of Paintings Internship The Courtauld Institute of Art One-year fixed term, part time - 2 days a week (14 hours per week) UKP20,657 pa pro rata (inc London Allowance) The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK's leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world. The Courtauld Institute of Art seeks to appoint a part time intern to undertake technical study of paintings in the Department of Conservation and Technology. The successful candidate will hold a recognised postgraduate qualification in painting conservation. Candidates should be prepared to carry out and assist students in the technical examination of paintings using technical photography, X radiography, and to prepare paint samples for analysis using microscopy and EDX spectroscopy, to interpret the data and write reports. Candidates should be prepared to work with staff and students in the Department and to liaise with external clients and with the finance office of the Institute.
