Hard copies of 19th century Readers Guide (2 volumes, 1890-1899) New York Times Personal Name Index, 1851-1974 (22 volumes) New York Times Personal Name Index Supplement, 1975-1999 (8 volumes) About 48 inches in shelf space in all. Boxed and ready to go. (2 book-size boxes) For those unfamiliar with the Times PNI, it was until about 2000 the gold standard in researching the Times, an alphabetized collation of all the personal names shown in the yearly/half-yearly/quarterly Times indices themselves. So you didn't have to check "Rosario Candela" in every volume of the index. They are still useful to the very, very dedicated researcher, since about 15% of the cites they recover do not show up in the ProQuest digitization. Free to the first 501c3 organization which promises to pick them up--no mailing--from our office: Christopher Gray Office for Metropolitan History 246 West 80th Street #8 New York NY 10024 212-799-0520 Fax: 212-799-0542 *** Conservation DistList Instance 27:3 Distributed: Wednesday, June 26, 2013 Message Id: cdl-27-3-020 ***Received on Tuesday, 18 June, 2013
