Jin Rijswijk (The Hague) houses the Dutch state collection.  Objects
in this collection (approximately 100,000 objects) are given on loan
to museums, ministries and embassies all over the world.  The
Collections building in Rijswijk is equipped with several
conservation studios where freelance conservators prepare the works
for loan.

The RCE is looking to contract a well qualified paintings
conservator, experienced in working on both modern and old master
paintings.

The Conservator is expected to

    Work on modern as well as old master paintings
    Help monitor the physical condition of the painting collection
    Write condition reports and to document all treatments performed
    Help maintain the equipment and supplies in the conservation
    studio

Requirements

    Academic education in Painting Conservation
    Experience with larger treatments
    Teamplayer
    Knowledge of the latest techniques
    Used to working with deadlines
    Good social and communication skills in English (minimum
    requirement) and/or Dutch

Appointment The Painting conservator will be appointed for one year,
with a maximum of three years.  The work will take place at the
Collections Department in Rijswijk (The Hague).  Compensation
depending on age and experience (minimum Euro 2.455; maximum Euro
3.852 gross per month).  The salary is based on a full working week
of 36 hours.
