Samuel H. Kress Fellowship in Paper Conservation Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) Toronto, Canada The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is pleased to offer a Samuel H. Kress Fellowship in paper conservation for a one-year appointment beginning October, 2013. In 2010 and 2012, the AGO received a remarkable donation of posters and related materials from Ross R. Scott and Donald R. Muller. The collection consists of nineteen posters by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, twenty-four rare Lautrec prints, and other works by Theophile Steinlen and their circle of late 19th century French artists. The Fellow will undertake a survey of the collection and work in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team on research, assessment, documentation, and development of treatment protocols. Preparation of the collection for exhibition, including treatment and design of temporary and permanent storage methods will form an integral part of the project. The Fellow will work closely with the AGO paper conservator, collections care specialists, curators, as well as a broader exhibition team, including collections management and design staff. In conjunction with social media and web design staff, the Fellow will be expected to produce conservation content from the project for the AGO website and blog. Collaboration with other institutions will be encouraged. A professional conference presentation or publishable paper on some aspect of the project will be expected. The Samuel H. Kress Fellowship provides a stipend of $27,000. The successful candidate will have recently completed a master's degree at a recognized conservation training program in the United States or Canada prior to beginning the fellowship.
