Duties and Responsibilities: UCL Qatar is seeking to appoint a
permanent full-time Lecturer in Conservation to work with existing
colleagues in contributing to teaching in conservation for the MSc
in Conservation Studies and to undertake independent and
collaborative research. The successful candidate should hold a PhD
in conservation or a related subject and have relevant teaching and
research experience. The lecturer will also develop specialized
courses in conservation and should have a hands-on approach. The
candidate should also have a positive attitude towards teamwork.

We welcome applications from specialists in conservation of
inorganic and/or organic materials.

The role holder will be leading, conducting and publishing research
of the highest standards and wide international impact, as well as
contributing to the development of UCL Qatar's wider research and
teaching strategies based on their own expertise.

It is also expected that the role holder will play a role in other
teaching duties, such as contributing to general study skills
courses.

The role holder will also take on the (co-)supervision of
forthcoming PhD and MSc theses in Conservation, while generally
providing academic leadership and offering advice to colleagues,
students and academic visitors in the field of conservation.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Conservation or related
subject. The candidate should also have hands-on conservation
experience in museums or archaeological sites.

The candidate will show evidence of significant completed research,
which has been published or is likely to be published soon, with a
suitable publication record sufficient for inclusion in the
forthcoming REF process.
