Air purification systems

A colleague who runs a small museum that is housed in a working
church has asked for advice on air purifiers.  The museum is on the
same HVAC system as the church and abundant incense is used during
all services. The incense finds its way into the museum, wafting
over open displays of paintings, artefacts (books, metals, wood etc)
and seeping into unsealed cases.  We would appreciate any and all
advice and comments about filtration/purification options.
