Subject: New blog--History of Historic Royal Palaces
The Blog of the Century! During 2013, Historic Royal Palaces are celebrating 100 years of conservation. We are charting our journey from the establishment of the William Morris tapestry studios at Hampton Court Palace to our current thriving multi-discipline Conservation and Collections Care department. As part of the celebrations and to tell some of these conservation stories there is an exciting new blog on Here you will find images, video clips and podcasts of our work together with some snappy 100-word stories written by the conservators themselves. Posts will be added regularly to reveal the behind-the-scenes secrets of both past and present projects from our textile, preventive, science and commissioned treatment teams. We have also produced a free download of tips and hints for the non-specialist on how to care for their treasures at home. We look forward to your comments.
