Conservation Technician Asian Art Museum San Francisco Full Time Fixed Term: July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014 The Asian Art Museum seeks a skilled individual for an exciting opportunity to work in an active conservation lab and to learn more about the conservation of a vast array of art objects in a museum setting. The incumbent will assist the professional conservation staff in a variety of duties related to the preservation and restoration of works of art. Duties include providing assistance in exhibition preparation for textiles and works on paper, plus general laboratory and gallery support. This position is full time and of fixed-term duration through June 30, 2014. The nature of this highly skilled work requires manual dexterity, intense concentration, and aesthetic sensibility in addition to excellent organizational skills and meticulous work habits.
