Summer Intensive Practical Conservation Workshop and tuition reduction International Conservation Center - Citta di Roma Old Acre, Israel July 16 - August 19, 2013 Be a part of the conservation of the Holy Land. This summer gain a thorough introduction to the field of historic preservation and heritage conservation and practical conservation techniques. Relevant to current students and professionals from any field, with a passion for preservation. No prior experience in conservation needed. Travel the Holy Land with the eye of a conservator. Five intensive weeks introduction to conservation, historic preservation, and cultural heritage studies. Workshops include theoretical and practical documentation, survey methods, and treatment planning through to practical application. Mortar and stone preservation in historic Tsfat, the medieval castle ruins of Yehiam, and the Western Wall Tunnels in the Old City of Jerusalem. Mosaic conservation at Roman Caesarea Historic building technologies in the Ottoman city of Old Acre. Tuition is only $1,900 for the full five weeks and includes accommodation in shared furnished apartments in Old Acre and at all working sites.
