Lecture "Conservation of the Archimedes Palimpsest" Israel Museum May 21, 2013 Abigail Quandt The Israel Society for the Conservation and Preservation of Cultural Property in cooperation with the Israel Museum, Jerusalem Conservation Department has the pleasure of inviting Abigail Quandt to give a lecture and workshop at the Israel Museum on May 21, 2013. Abigail Quandt who is senior conservator of rare books and manuscripts of the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, has kindly agreed to give a morning talk to conservators entitled "Conservation of the Archimedes Palimpsest" which promises to include an overview of the development of treating parchment manuscripts from a personal perspective. In the afternoon Abigail Quandt will be giving a workshop to a small group of about 15 conservators entitled "Conservation Applications of Remoistenable Tissue". Opening welcoming statements will be made by Hasia Rimon ACR chairman of the Society and Michael Maggen Head of Paper Conservation at the Israel Museum who's lab facilities will be used for the workshop.
