Assistant objects conservator
18 month position

The Walters Art Museum is offering an exciting opportunity to an emerging
professional conservator to work in a very active museum laboratory
that focuses on preventive collections care, treatment, research and
public outreach.  The Walters is a dynamic museum with collections from
around the world, spanning ancient times to the early 20th century.
The Conservation and Technical Research Division staff members work
collaboratively across all divisions of the museum and are committed to
professional activities both nationally and internationally.

The focus of the Assistant Conservator?s work will be the Walters
outstanding Egyptian, Southeast Asian, and Russian enamels collections,
as well as other priorities that may arise.  The Assistant Conservator
will also participate in public outreach through the Walters popular
Conservation Window.  This position is full time for 18 months to begin
July 1, 2013; we provide a competitive salary plus a travel stipend and
a generous benefits package.

Candidates should be graduates of a recognized conservation training
program or have equivalent experience.  Applications, including a
