Internship in conservation The Chester Beatty Library Dublin The Heritage Council of Ireland and The Chester Beatty Library are pleased to offer a twelve month internship in paper conservation. The internship will be based at The Chester Beatty Library and begin October/November 2013. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Library's Head of conservation and be involved in every aspect of work carried out in the busy Conservation Laboratory. This will include condition reporting and treatment of specific collections; as well as working on exhibitions, loans, surveys and housing projects. The intern will be encouraged to carry out a short research project on an aspect of the collection, the subject of which will be determined once the internship has begun. The applicant should be able to work with a degree of independence. Candidates should be recent graduates (2011-2013) of a recognised book and/or paper conservation training program. Applications can only be considered from candidates who are eligible to work in Ireland.
