"Risk Management in Collections Care" The Polar Museum, Cambridge Friday 21 June 2013 University of Cambridge Museums (UCM) in cooperation with the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and the British Museums is organising a one day seminar "Risk Management in Collections Care" Cost: UKP90 Seminar leaders: Agnes Brokerhof Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands Dr Anna Bulow The British Museum Andor Vince The Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge This one day seminar will explore a risk-based approach to collections care and application of risk management methodology in practice. It will include: Lecture by Agnes Brokerhof about the application of risk management in the cultural heritage field. She will discuss how heritage organisations can use this to prioritise their limited resources and reduce the risks that have the greatest impact on collections preservation. Risk assessment exercise where participants will have an opportunity to apply the principles of risk management in practice and discuss issues in collections care such as strategic planning and prioritisation. Lecture by Dr Anna Bulow discussing a model used to measure cost-effectiveness in health care and its potential to inform decisions in collection management. This will be followed by discussion about cost-effective resource allocation. The number of places is limited. Booking is essential.
