Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Art Conservation Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences Ref: ADS12/14 Salary:s SL: 37,382 - 45,941 GBP L: 32,267 - 36,298 GBP The Department of Arts has well established and innovative collaborations within the cultural sector including Tate Britain, National Trust, Tyneside Cinema, Tyne and Wear Museums and most recently the BALTIC centre. We have international ambition as well as ambition to position the region as a global hub of contemporary art learning and practice. You will provide undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the Department of Arts. You will initiate new research projects, develop approaches to external funding agencies, supervise PhD students and contribute to collaborative research activity. You will also create and deliver innovative and interesting modules designed to provide a high-quality student experience in Art Conservation. You will have significant expertise and technical ability in Art Conservation practice, together with a PhD and/or equivalent postgraduate/professional qualification/experience in conservation of art. You should have an understanding of the key debates affecting contemporary and future professional practice of the conservation of fine art. You will be able to demonstrate achievement in research to a high professional standing in the field, and the ability to make a significant contribution to the development of research and / or consultancy within the Department and Faculty.
