Centre for Research Collections Internship at the University of
Edinburgh

The Centre for Research Collections (CRC) has developed a new
programme of internships to teach and extend core skills in the
cultural heritage sector. Following the success of our first two
internships earlier this year, we are now offering one conservation
internship to provide essential experience for those hoping to
undertake further study to qualify as a conservator. This internship
is available for 10 weeks full-time from May to July 2013. A stipend
of UKP3,000 is attached to the internship.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on unique material in the
University of Edinburgh Archive

in particular to preserve a newly accessioned and important
collection of material relating to the significant Scottish
folklorist, poet, writer and political activist Hamish Henderson.
Wider experience of working in the archive and higher education
sectors will also be offered.

This internship is specifically intended for those who intend to
apply for a relevant conservation qualification. To apply for the
internship, please provide the following:

Your CV of no more than 2 sides of A4 (to include contact
details, information on your current qualifications and any
previous voluntary or work experience, and contact details for
    two referees),

A supporting statement of 500 - 1000 words detailing why you are
interested in the internship and describing how participation in
the programme would benefit your future career,

Confirmation that you are eligible to work in the UK.

Applications may be sent via email or post to
