NGA awards contract for first phase of ConservationSpace software
development

On February 21, 2013, The National Gallery of Art awarded the first
stage of software development for ConservationSpace to the Sirma
ITT. This discovery stage will run from March - June 2013. The NGA
and its partners are excited to engage with Sirma ITT, whose partner
company, Ontotext is the software developer for ResearchSpace.

Merv Richards, Chief of Conservation for the NGA and project lead
for ConservationSpace, will participate in "Conservation Treatment
Documentation Databases," a discussion session planned for Friday,
May 31, 2013 at the American Institute for Conservation's 41st
Annual Meeting to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana. For details,

The goal of ConservationSpace is to develop an open-source software
application that will address a core need of the conservation
community for a shared solution to the problem of documentation
management. The project is generously funded by the Andrew W.
Mellon Foundation.
