Closing Date: March 22, 2013 Conservator (Furniture and Decorative Art) Challenge: This position provides conservation treatment, expertise and information related to a full range of furniture and other wooden objects of artistic and historic value. This position plans and delivers workshops related to the field of furniture and wood-based decorative art collections including care of collections and conservation treatment, and conducts surveys of furniture and wood-based decorative art collections; undertakes research in materials and methods of conservation of wooden materials and furniture; authors publications on treatments and research; and communicates with client groups within Canada and with colleagues nationally and internationally through reports, publications and presentations. The position participates in the selection of, planning the work/study for, supervision and evaluation of interns.
