"Jacob Jordaens: Origin - Transformation - Conservation"
International Symposium
Kassel
6-7 May 2013

The Paintings Specialty Group of the VDR in collaboration with the
Museumslandschaft Hessen-Kassel is organizing an international
conference May 6-7 2013 in Kassel, Germany presenting: "Jacob
Jordaens: Origin - Transformation - Conservation"

The conference aims to highlight the oeuvre of Jacob Jordaens and
major contemporary painting workshops of 17th century Flanders in a
collaboration with art historians and conservators. An additional
focus will be placed on the recognition Jordaens receives in
contemporary German art. We will therefore include a panel
discussion which will investigate the working methods of three
artists. We cordially invite you to join us!
