Oil stains on paper

A colleague of mine who is not on the DistList would like to know
whether anyone would know the best way of removing an oil stain from
fairly soft antique paper without danger to printing ink? The paper
is part of an antique (I think 17th century) printed book, of which
several pages have been stained with oil, probably in the mid to
late 20th century. The oil has oxidised to a dark brown colour. The
book is now taken down, and the pages can be treated separately.
