Call for presentations and posters
International Cemetery Preservation Summit

NCPTT is soliciting oral and poster presentations that focus on
research and innovation in cemetery conservation and preservation
for the NCPTT's International Cemetery Preservation Summit to be
held in Niagara Falls, NY, October 8-10, 2013. Topics for
presentation may include recent developments in technologies, unique
treatments, and creative solutions.Additionally, presentations may
explore future directions in cemetery preservation as well as
current gaps in research and understanding of issues.Presentations
will be reviewed and selected by NCPTT staff.Speakers will be
offered a reduced registration fee of $199.

Proposals for presentations should be submitted as extended
abstracts. There are two categories of presentations: oral
presentations and poster presentations.

Oral presentations: Talks will be 20 minutes in duration, ending
with a 5 minute questions session (25 minute total). Please submit
an abstract of no less than 500 words (excluding figures and
references). Abstract should contain: presenter's full contact
information (name, title, organization, address, phone, fax, email),
and a 100-word biography for the author and each co-author. We
recommend no more than two presenters per paper.

Posters should be approximately 36 x 40 inches, landscape. Please
submit an abstract of no less than 500 words (excluding figures and
references). Abstract should contain: main presenter's full contact
information (name, title, organization, address, phone, fax,
email),and a 100-word biography for the author and each co-author.

Suggested key issues, topics, and concepts of papers may address
include but are not limited to:

    Archaeology
    Mapping and Documentation
    Landscapes
    Engineering Challenges
    Issues in National Cemeteries
    Materials Conservation
    Stone
    Masonry
    Wood
    Metals

Abstract deadline for oral presentations is May 6, 2013. Poster
deadline is August 5, 2013.

                            oral presentations
    June 10, 2013           Announce accepted presentations
    June 24, 2013           Confirmation from presenters
    July 1, 2013            Announce program, post schedule
    Aug 5, 2013             Deadline for poster abstracts
    Aug 19, 2013            Announce accepted posters
    Sep 1, 2013             Early Registration ($299) ends
    Sep 2 - Oct 4, 2013     Full Registration of $399

Submission guidelines:

    All accepted proposals must be presented at the conference by at
    least one author.

    Authors of an accepted presentation must provide an abstract of
    no less than 500 words (not including diagrams, figures, and
    references) for publication in the conference proceedings.

    NCPTT welcomes student participation in the summit, students are
    welcome to submit oral and poster abstracts.

    Submissions whose main purpose is to promote a commercial
    product or service will not be accepted.
