Summer Conservation Internship Chrysler Museum of Art 10 week internship, 40 hours a week Project: to inspect, wash, and clean glass from the museum collection in preparation for its reinstallation. Intern will also be engaged in inspecting and re-housing works of art on paper from the museum's collection of photographs, prints and drawings. Intern will be assessing and making improvements to mounts, backings, or other minor deficiencies, working under the guidance of the museum's conservator. Intern must be well organized, able to work carefully, independently, and follow instructions. Preference will be given to students who have met the prerequisites and are applying to graduate training programs. Experience in conservation, art handling and picture framing is preferred. The internship provides a stipend of $5,000. Qualified candidates should respond with a cover letter and resume no later than March 15, 2013.
