A five day conference will be held in September 2013. The theme of
the conference is the conservation of mural paintings and sculpture
in the Himalayan region.

Several projects have been conducted in this region by many
International and local agencies and conservators. Each has
developed a methodology aware of other approaches but often relying
on adapted technologies and locally available resources. The people
of the region have been involved in several of these projects to
varying degrees with measurable residual skills development in many
cases.

The main focus of this conference will be the discussion of the
various methods currently employed and the degree to which knowledge
transfer and local engagement has been successfully implemented.
