The Conservation Division of the National Gallery of Art is pleased
to convey that a federal competitive announcement is being posted
shortly to accept applications for the position of Head of Painting
Conservation.

The National Gallery of Art seeks a candidate to serve as the Head
of Painting Conservation in the Conservation Division.  The person
selected for the position will serve in a leadership role in
organizing and coordinating the division's Painting Conservation
Department.  The incumbent will provide examinations, treatments,
and documentation of paintings in the Gallery's collections and
supervise the staff responsible for the preservation of paintings
throughout the National Gallery of Art. The series and grade of this
position is a GS 1016-15 and qualifications are commensurate with
those at a senior level in the profession.  The position is
full-time and benefits are provided.  As a federally funded
position, this announcement is open only to U.S. citizens.
