UKP16,453 per annum (pro rata to UKP27,422 per annum)

This is a unique opportunity to work on a culturally significant
project, Transforming Tate Britain: Building, Archives, Access which
will make 52,000 items from Tate Archive available to the public for
viewing online for the first time.

As Archive Conservator, you will undertake a survey of the archive
collections selected for digitisation, write condition reports,
undertake interventive treatments, complete documentation, train
Archive staff and a team of volunteers and oversee housing of
Archive materials.

You will hold a recognised qualification in Conservation or
equivalent with demonstrable practical experience treating,
assessing materials.  It is essential to have analytical and
problem-solving skills, organisational, time-management and planning
skills, and to be an effective communicator.  You will need to be
able to work independently on conservation treatments and provide
specialist advice for storage, transport and installation of Archive
materials.  Good IT skills are required as is a willingness to
travel and work flexible hours.

This post is offered on a fixed-term contract for 18 months and is
part-time at 21.6 hours per week.
