Treatment conservation manager (maternity cover) Based at Hampton Court Palace Six months with possible extension. Historic Royal Palaces' tapestries, textiles, decorative objects and interiors are windows to the past. By managing their conservation treatment through experts across four treatment teams you will ensure these collections can be enjoyed well into the future. Working within five of the country's greatest palaces, you will join a 34-strong team of treatment and preventive conservators and conservation scientists, looking after some of the world's finest royal collections and decorative interiors. You will be responsible for delivering a complex and well-established programme of treatment work as well as steering collection management projects. You must therefore be a conservation professional with a proven record of devising and delivering conservation treatment plans with experience of stored collection reviews. You will have a degree (or equivalent) in conservation with an advanced knowledge of textiles conservation and a general knowledge and experience of non-textile objects and their treatment needs. You will be enthusiastic to work with the Conservation and Collection Care (CCC) team to build a profile for conservation of which HRP can be proud. You will have achieved ACR or have an equivalent level of experience and knowledge. It is equally important that you are an experienced project manager with proven project and people management skills who can lead teams and individuals to meet deadlines. You will manage 19 staff members as well as supervise interns. Your expertise will make you part of the management team- with the chance to project-manage initiatives and collaborate across the organisation. You should understand the demands of a customer-focussed (but business-based) environment and be passionate about communicating conservation to our visitors, members and staff, with an ability to work with others across the disciplines of a large scale and ambitions heritage site organisation, both internally and externally. Although based at Hampton Court Palace, there will be a requirement to work at other palaces on occasion. Historic Royal Palaces endorses the Icon PACR accreditation scheme.
