Introduction to close range 3D laser scanning of cultural heritage 11 February 2013 This one day course, to be held in Liverpool (UK), will give participants an introduction to close range 3D laser scanning of cultural artefacts, and the applications of 3D data created in this way in the heritage field. Such applications include; documentation and archiving, replication using rapid prototyping and CNC machining technologies, monitoring, reconstructions, conservation and educational applications, amongst others. Issues such as copyright, data storage and accessibility to 3D data will also be covered. The course will take the form of lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions, and will be led by Annemarie La Pensee of Conservation Technologies, who has over ten years' experience in the field of 3D laser scanning in the heritage field.
