The National Records of Scotland (NRS) are seeking applications for a part time permanent conservator, working 221/2 hours per week, based in Edinburgh this appointment is permanent and pensionable. Salary range offered is UKP25165 - UKP30267 As a key member of our Conservation Branch you will be involved in all aspects of conservation and preservation of the archival collections held by NRS. Duties include specialist practical conservation work, guiding all preservation practices including environment, storage, handling, exhibition loans and internal display and able to provide specialist advice and information. You must hold a degree in Conservation and or a relevant postgraduate qualification. Accredited status is desirable or the willingness to work towards achieving this. You must be able to provide advice on the care of collections and objects, implement preventative strategies in addition to core practical bench work. You will have experience in identifying and disseminating relevant analyses or specialist advice to other specialists and non-specialists.
