Our paper conservation studio is seeking an experienced paper
conservator for full-time employment.

The applicant should hold a degree from a recognized conservation
training program. A specialization in paper and a broader
understanding of the treatment of a wide range of materials is
preferred but not mandatory. In addition, the applicant should have
at least two years practical work experience in a studio or lab
setting. This position requires a team-oriented personality,
organizational mind, easy-going attitude, excellent written and
verbal communication skills, and a sense of humor.

Daily responsibilities include:

    Identify, diagnose and propose treatments for conservation
    projects.

    Undertake treatments and develop new methodologies for
    conservation and sustainable preservation in accordance with
    American Institute for Conservation's Code of Ethics and
    Guidelines for Practice.

    Assess and/or modify conservation methods to achieve desired
    results.

    Undertake research in materials and techniques, including new
    methods of treatment.

    Ensure accurate written and photographic documentation for
    conservation examinations and treatments.

    Disseminate research through publications, presentations,
    conferences and workshops.
