Centre for Research Collections Internships
at the University of Edinburgh

The Centre for Research Collections (CRC) has developed a new
programme of internships to teach and extend core skills in the
archive and conservation disciplines.

Two internships are available (1 archive intern and 1 conservation
intern), each for 10 weeks full-time from January-March 2013. A
stipend of UKP3,000 is attached to each internship.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on unique material in
Lothian Health Services Archive

The archive intern will focus on cataloguing the rich photographic
resources held, and the conservation intern will concentrate on the
treatment and re-housing of early parchment title deeds. Wider
experience of working in the archive and higher education sectors
will also be offered.

These internships are ideally suited for those who are applying for,
or have recently completed, a relevant postgraduate qualification.

To apply, submit your CV (to include contact details, information on
your qualifications and any previous voluntary or work experience,
and contact details for two referees), and a supporting statement of
500-1000 words detailing why you are interested in the internship
and describing how participation in the programme would benefit your
future career. Please also confirm that you are eligible to work in
the UK.

Applications may be sent via email or post to

subsequent, informal, interview at the CRC, to be held in the week
beginning 7 January 2013. Please note that expenses to attend the
informal interview will not be paid.

Closing date for applications: 19 December 2012
Starting date: January 2013
