The Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) is pleased to announce the
launch of a new series of annual two-week workshops that will focus
on specific topics relating to the conservation treatment of
photographic materials. Each workshop in the series will focus
intensively on a specific type of damage or deterioration problem,
guiding participants towards a better understanding of the nature
and mechanisms of the damage and the appropriate treatment
strategies to address it.

This series of workshops is designed as a follow-up to the course
Fundamentals of the Conservation of Photographs, offered by the
Getty Conservation Institute from 2008-2010, and is intended
primarily for conservators in central, southern and eastern Europe.
A limited number of spaces may be available to conservators from
outside this region.

The first workshop in the series--Conservation Strategies for
Humidity and Water Damaged Photographic Materials--will be offered
on 15-26 July 2013 in partnership with the Croatian State Archives.
The workshop will take place at the facilities of the Archives in
Zagreb, Croatia.

Additional information and an application may be found on the Getty
