The name of this position and its descriptor is "Senior
Conservator-Textiles (DCA #61746) and it is within the Department of
Cultural Affairs. Job posting and online application form are to be
found at the New Mexico State Personnel Office job application site:

    <URL:http://agency.governmentjobs.com/newmexico/default.cfm>
search for "conservator", job number, etc.

Please be advised that the official State Personnel Office job
listing uses language from the master class description which is
used for registrars, collection management, museum technicians,
preparators and last but not least conservators. As such it is
overly generalized and really not descriptive of this position. In
fact it is terrible. It is badly in need of overhaul and will be
quite confusing reading for professional conservators. Bureaucracy
being what it is that overhaul will not happen for some time if at
all.

I have prepared a descriptive document which provides accurate
information for this position. It is available upon request from
me, please use the contact information in my signature block. Please
ensure that you put your name and "Senior Conservator-Textiles (DCA
#61746) in the subject heading of any email so that I may respond
appropriately and timely.

Please note, this is important: If you are interested and submit an
application via the State Personnel Office website please send me an
email expressing that fact and include a copy of your resume. The
web application process has issues and I wish to ensure that
qualified applicants are properly considered but all official
applications will be made using the online form.
