    scientific photography, scanning and 3D modeling

Registrations open until December 5, 2012

Duration: 60 hours split in three hours modules each week. From
January to June 2013, early evening time slot.

Objectives and opportunities: This course enables students to gain
skills in the new technologies of investigation, documentation,
management, analysis and communication of cultural heritage and
industrial design. Students are given the opportunity to develop a
digital product of their own choice. One of the participants will be
offered the opportunity for a two months paid internship at the
CCR's Imaging Laboratory.

The program: The course is split into five modules.

    Module I
    6 hours
    Basic rules for the identification of equipment for effective
    diagnostic and scientific evidence in the field of cultural
    heritage: photographic and graphic documentation.3D:
    measurements and modeling

    Module 2
    12 hours
    Digital photo documentation: scientific photography: techniques
    and methods of recovery; innovative photographic techniques:
    Computational Photography (multifocus, multilight, HDR,
    superresolution, noise reduction, motion deblurring, etc..)
    Basic techniques of post-processing of the acquired data using
    the SW more widespread and versatile, Work-flow image archiving;
    Collective and individual exercises

    Module 3
    10 hours
    QTVR Panoramic Photography: Tools and Methods, Applications

    Module 4
    20 hours
    Low-cost 3D documentation, surveys and post-production
    equipment, techniques and survey methods, post-processing
    techniques based on the data acquired using the more popular and
    versatile SW; Collective and individual exercises

    Module 5
    12 hours
    Pure 3D digital modeling: Basic techniques of modeling using the
    more popular and versatile SW; Virtual Reality; Final
    theoretical and practical; Presentation of the project developed
    by each student during the course

Teaching methodologies: The course is split in 5 modules, consisting
of lectures and practical exercises in which students will have the
opportunity to develop their own project.

Admission requirements: Scientific expertise and familiarity with
the use of graphics programs. To attend the course is recommended
that students are equipped with a laptop.

Selections: During the first week of December 2012, candidates will
be interviewed and asked to present a project to be developed during
the course.

Qualification: certificate of attendance

Available places: 18

Total cost: Euro 800
