Leather

We are currently reviewing risk assessment, guidelines for handling
and treatment options for leather with 'red rot'.  We are aware of
recent developments the Leather Conservation Centre have made but
are interested in learning what precautions other libraries and
archives take when storing, handling and issuing books with this
problem and what they are doing to minimise the degraded leather
particles from spreading.
