Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) available for disaster assistance Heritage Preservation is extending the deadline for 2013 Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) applications until Tuesday, January 15, 2013. This provides an additional six weeks for museums to complete a CAP application. <URL:http://www.heritagepreservation.org/CAP/application.html> Museums that sustained damage to collections or historic structures from Hurricane Sandy, CAP is available to conduct immediate, emergency assessments. To qualify, museums must be located in a federally declared disaster area. See <URL:http://www.fema.gov/sandy> Museums should complete the 2013 CAP application <URL:http://cap.heritagepreservation.org> and include a brief description of the damage sustained and status of the museum's operations. Applications for CAP emergency assessments also have a deadline of January 15, 2013. This opportunity is being offered on a limited and one-time basis only.
