Objects Conservation Fellowship (unpaid) Art Gallery of New South Wales Sydney Australia <URL:http://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au> This is an unpaid conservation fellowship for a specialist graduate or senior student of organic materials. This fellowship provides an opportunity to work with an exquisite collection of objects from the New Guinea Highlands, including body ornaments and ceremonial objects, under the direction of our senior conservator of organic materials. The fellow will be involved in condition reporting, identification of materials and construction techniques, conservation treatments and display mounting. The Art Gallery of NSW is located in the Royal Botanic Gardens, adjacent to Sydney harbour. The conservation department includes a permanent staff of 11. The conservation labs are fully equipped and are well set up with equipment for examination and analysis including x-ray equipment, XRF, FTIR and infrared. This unpaid fellowship is open to an Australian or International applicant for one year, commencing in February 2013.
