The Children's Society Records and Archive Centre is responsible for
providing corporate records management, archive and data protection
programmes for The Children's Society.

You will deliver preservation and conservation services designed to
make the collection available to a diverse range of stakeholders as
part of the Unexplored Riches in Medical History Project funded by
the Wellcome Trust's Research Resources in Medical History
programme. This will involve providing both advice and the practical
implementation of a preservation programme for The Children's
Society's children's case files (late 19th - early 20th century) and
other related archive documents, as set out in the business plan for
the project. You will also supervise and help train a small team of
volunteers who are assisting in the preservation programme for the
project. Information about the condition of these records will be
entered into the Archive database, using CALM software.

To join us, you will require a minimum of a BA or professional
qualification in paper conservation, backed by relevant experience.
You will bring good IT and organisational skills and a team-spirited
approach. Familiarity with CALM software would be an advantage.

As well as a strong commitment to your development, we offer
generous holidays, contributory stakeholder pension, childcare
vouchers and flexible working.
