Subject: A death
An old friend and colleague passes all too prematurely. Objects Conservator John Maseman died at age 58 on September 19, 2012. With his passing, the field of conservation has lost a skilled colleague and a passionate advocate. Born in Titusville, Pa., he moved to South Florida as a young boy. After high school, he studied art history at the University of South Florida in Tampa. John did his conservation training at the London Institute of Archeology and worked privately in Florida for several years. John touched many lives and contributed to the survival of a great deal of cultural property. He will be always remembered for his warmth, his humanity and his enthusiasm. He is survived by his sons Carl and Todd Jackson Maseman, both of Zellwood; daughter Bridget Helena Maseman of Mount Dora. May he rest in Peace.
